The Strategic Immunization Application (SIA) is a secure, confidential, computerized information system that presents information about immunizations and patients. It contains guidelines and makes them broadly available over the internet.
The system uses an easy-to-master interface, to provide data about the patient and guidelines from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) on recommended immunizations for an individual. Health care providers in clinics, private practice or social service settings use the system to record both historical and current data about the patient. The system uses this data to recommend effective immunization strategies for the patient.
The application is based upon proven Internet technologies, and accessible using any PC with a browser and Internet connection. SIA provides broad accessibility to reliable immunization history and ease of use to health care providers. Even when patients move from provider to provider, their information is available, reliable and current.
